We All Want Snacks!
Corporate events can be long days full of important information. You want people to be ready and full of energy when attending workshops that require participation. You also want them to be engaged and feel excited about the things they are learning. One of the best ways to do that is to provide people with snacks during a quick break.
A light refreshment table can include any number of quick and healthy options that boost people’s energy, and a quick break can keep people fresh and focused. Anyone who is sitting in a position for too long may start to dose off, and you don’t want that to happen! Therefore, encourage event leaders to allow time for breaks. This will keep people happy and content during workshops.
Stay Away from the Sugar
You do not want to provide too much sugar at the refreshment table. Remember eating too much candy as a kid? You would get a sugar rush and then crash into a dazed stupor. That exact phenomenon can happen to your staff if your snacks are laden with sugar. Instead, choose a healthy variety of snacks. You can include a cookie or two, but make sure they aren’t the only thing available.
Snack Content?
You can make the snacks as simple or as fancy as you like. For example, if you’re hosting a simple in-house meeting, provide employees with drinks and a few pre-packaged options like chips or popcorn. If your event is a little more professional, serve light hors d’oeuvres for people who may feel hungry during the break. Cheese, crackers, and fruit are always great options, no matter what kind event you’re hosting. Just remember to keep things light and mess-free, so people can return to the meeting or workshop feel satisfied without feeling stuffed.
How About a Drink?
You should also supply event attendees with a variety of drinks. Bottles of water are a must to keep people hydrated during the day. Store them at a table near the entrance of the event. It’s also a great idea to make a thermos of coffee or a coffee maker available for those who need that extra caffeine boost. If you feel it is necessary, keep some soda or juice on hand, and consider tea as another option since it is low in sugar and has caffeine.
Light refreshments are one of the best things that a corporate event can provide its attendees. It will make participants feel focused and full of energy, which they can put to good use at the event!
