The Opportunity
When Visit Richmond set out to create their 10×20 booth, their vision was clear, to capture the essence of their city in a way that felt authentic, engaging, and deeply rooted in local pride. They wanted their presence to be more than just a trade show space; it needed to tell the story of Richmond itself. Drawing inspiration from the city’s vibrant character, we partnered with a local artist to create a custom mural that celebrated downtown Richmond, its historic architecture, dynamic culture, and the James River winding through its heart. This artistic centerpiece became a visual tribute to the city’s heritage and a compelling conversation starter for every visitor.
Our Approach
With limited square footage, our design challenge was to craft a space that was both functional and immersive. The layout balanced two key objectives: providing a private setting for pre-scheduled meetings while maintaining an open, welcoming area for spontaneous interactions. The mural anchored the design, setting a warm, authentic tone that drew attendees in and gave the client a natural platform to share Richmond’s story. Despite initial timing concerns for the artwork’s completion, the collaboration with the artist went seamlessly, allowing us to deliver a booth that blended artistry with strategic utility, perfectly aligning with the client’s goals.
The Results
The finished booth not only stood out visually but also delivered measurable results. Visit Richmond received exceptional feedback, describing it as their best booth structure to date and praising the ProExhibits team for outstanding service and execution. The space drew numerous compliments from attendees and fostered strong networking opportunities, with several new connections made across other destination exhibitors. For us, the highlight was seeing how the design sparked genuine engagement and how our client’s enthusiasm translated into meaningful relationships and referrals.
